Michael Anaba is an Assistant Professor at the University of the Fraser Valley in Canada and a PhD Fellow at the University of New Brunswick. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Nursing and an MSc in Epidemiology from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa. He also holds certifications in project management, Human Genomics, and implementation science in Global Health from the National Institute of Health in Bethesda and the University of Washington in the USA.
Before his current role, Michael worked in the health systems in Ghana and South Africa. His research focuses on cancer prevention and control, immigrant health, and health equity. Michael has received several awards, including the WHO/TDR Implementation Science Award, Enrich Black and Indigenous Doctoral Research Award, and New Brunswick PhD Nursing Award, among others.
He is a member of various professional associations, including the Canadian Public Health Association, Canadian Nurses Association, British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, and New Brunswick Association of Nurses.
